Descent from Sierra Delijar

After 900m of climbing a fantastic descent from Sierra Delijar to Algodonales, about 500m of stuff like this.

Andalucia day 3

A great day today on the single track at El Chorro. Dramatic rock scenery and wonderful views over azure lakes. Some long roadclimbs but a fantastic pay back with long descents on some of the best single track in Southern Spain. The highlight being 'El Moab' a descent on sandstone slick rock similar to it's namesake in Utah. and the long and challenging descent from the La Mesa reservoir to the village of El Chorro. 450 vertical meters over less than 4K.

Off for more of the same now if my quads can cope!!

Andalucia MTB days 1&2

Hi folks, welcome to Birchy's first Blog as I emerge blinking from under my stone into the 21st century. I know this will elicit a splutter or two of amazement from the venerable Stuart Rose, who will probably suggest a renaming of the blog as 'Mr 9 Holidays' but hey ho I can live with that so please sit back relax and enjoy mountain biking in Andalucia with me.

A great start to the trip arriving at a lovely Finca run by Christain and Christian of All Mountain Venture photographed here in the moonlight, shortly after a glorious sunset. Ah the romance of it all.

The next one is for you Ellie, note the pool!!

First days riding, was nothing technical but plenty of up hill and fast downhills on dirt roads giving a feel of the local countryside.

Whats the Spanish for mint sauce!!

Tapas and beer in Setinil after the ride

Day 2 some great single track
